Top seed Taylor Fritz will begin the defence of his Delray Beach Open title against the unseeded Nuno Borges. Taylor Fritz is back in Delray for the seventh time. Last season he finally won the title after never having gone past the quarterfinals in his first five appearances. With how strongly he has started the year, the American is likely to make another deep run in this ATP 250 event. He has compiled a 6-2 record so far and five of his wins have come on hard court. He defeated lucky loser Gabriel Diallo in straight sets in the first round. Advancing to this round has moved him up two places in the live ranking and into a career-high placing. He is now ranked 44th in the world. The winner of this second-round tie will then play either Matteo Arnaldi, Rinly Hijikat, or Lim Broady in the quarters.
