It could well be a case of deja vu for Arsenal on December 27. The Gunners needed to win to return to the top of the table and might need to do so again when the leaders host ninth-placed Brighton and Hove Albion. Time for our match prediction.
A win for Manchester City at Nottingham Forest earlier on Saturday will see a two-point lead turn into a one-point deficit. Arsenal will be confident of winning this game though and making it eight wins out of nine at home in this season's Premier League.
Brighton and Hove Albion are only five points adrift of the final Champions League place. That's despite the fact the Seagulls have gone four league games without a win and are struggling up front. More about that in the form section of this Premier League preview. They also have a poor recent record against Arsenal so may be happy their next two festive games are against West Ham and Burnley, both currently in the bottom three.

Arsenal - Brighton: Form Analysis
Arsenal have won three of their last four league games, most recently winning 1-0 at Everton. Home form has played a big part in their great run this season with seven wins and a draw so far and only three goals conceded.
Each of their last nine/ten home games in all competitions have been won. Midweek saw them beat Crystal Palace to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals. Earlier this season, the Gunners beat Brighton 2-0 at home in that competition. It was a struggle against Palace though, only going through after a penalty shootout. Strangely, Arsenal's last three home goals have all been scored by their opponents!
The Seagulls are struggling to get wins.
Brighton and Hove Albion have only earned two points from their last four league fixtures. Last weekend saw them held to a home goalless draw by Sunderland, the second successive game in which they had failed to score.
Only two of their eight away league games have been won this season with four defeats and just seven goals scored. Just one of the last six has been won with them failing to score in three of the last four.

Arsenal & Brighton Squad Analysis
Arsenal won in midweek but left out several key players for the Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace. Players such as Rice, Saka, Gyokeres, Saliba, Odegaard and Trossard all began that game on the subs bench and are expected to be back in the starting line-up this weekend.
More creativity needed by the Gunners.
The last three games Arsenal have played has seen them fail to score from open play. Four goals have been scored but three were own-goals and the winner at Everton came from the penalty spot. No new injury problems have been revealed by Arteta but he will look for some more creativity.
Will Danny Welbeck start for Brighton against his former club? The striker has scored some important goals for the Seagulls this season. After a recent back injury he has spent most of Albion's recent games on the subs bench, coming on in the second half.
Carlos Baleba will definitely miss this game as he's away on international duty. Adam Webster will also be absent due to injury and there are doubts over Jan-Paul Van Heckke and he may not be playing on Saturday.
