Backing Trabzonspor to score was a good bet last year and may well be again this term. They only failed to score in one league game last season. Champions Istanbul Basaksehir had just two games in which they didn’t get on the scoresheet.
How to predict Super Lig matches
What are the factors that need to be taken into account when you are trying to place winning bets on the Turkish Super Lig? . First and foremost is to keep an eye on the strong teams of the league. Times have changed in recent years in this league with Istambul Basasksehir and Trabzonspor gatecrashing the party that has seen Galatasary, Besiktas and Fenerbahce dominate the league.
Look to see which teams are in form, which are the ones scoring lots of goals or struggling to get on the scoresheet for example. Our team of betting experts will study the form with great interest when writing their previews. Look at the home and away records of teams and the teams they have been playing of late. A set of good wins over poor opposition means points earned but they may well struggle against a much better side.
It is important to look at the line-ups named by the teams. If a side is without influential players, they may struggle to get a result in their next game. On the other hand, a team that has a top player returning is likely to put in a better effort.
Beyond the form and injuries to the key players, it is also important to understand the importance of a match in terms of the longer picture. If a club is playing in a key Champions League fixture on the upcoming Wednesday, then they may not put their full might in the weekend game – especially if it is against a mid-table club. So, unless there is a derby or a game between the table toppers, upcoming fixtures in the Champions League or the Europa League could distract the managers in deciding the playing XI. Especially because, some clubs may feel that doing well on the European stage to make a name for themselves could be a deciding factor.
There are additional factors like participation in the domestic cup that may have a hand in deciding your sports predictions on the Turkish Super Lig. For example, if Istanbul Basaksehir are leading the league standings and are slated to play the bottom-placed team before a crucial Champions League group fixture against Manchester United, then there will definitely be distraction for Gala. More so, if a win against the Red Devils will help them qualify for the Champions League knockouts. That could mean Gala fielding an under-strength side in the weekend league game which may open up opportunities for an upset! Also keep an eye on the importance of a fixture for the participating sides – a relegation-threatened side desperate for a win could pull out all stops to defeat a mid-table side although on paper they are supposed to lose!
Last, but not the least, do not forget to take a look at various sports betting sites and compare the odds before finalising your bets. As you know, for the same bet, different bookmakers may offer different parts. Once you have decided on which pick to go with, you can maximize your potential earnings by going for the best available odds. For example, on a victory for Antalyaspor against Galatasaray, Bet365 could offer odds of 5/2 as against 2/1 by William Hill. As long as you stay vigilant, your earnings in the long run could be multiplied!
How to predict the Super Lig table
There are so many ways you can get yourselves involved, along with the results on a specific match in the Turkey Super Lig. The bookmakers will keep throwing surprises in lining up interesting picks. There could be odds offered on who will finish among the Champions League places or Europa League qualification places that could be interesting for you as a bettor.
In the 2020//21 season, the winner will get a direct qualification to the next year Champions League, while the runners-up will move into the Champions League qualifiers. The next two placed sides will qualify for the Europa League. With the top sides always in the mix for these four spots, it is important to keep an eye on the odds with a view of placing a bet. There can be other avenues like placing a bet on who gets relegated for the season, as well!
Betting tips on the Super Lig top Scorer
A bet on the top goal scorer is always an exciting one to place. You will be on the edge of your seat hoping your selection will score a goal. Last season, Alexander Sørloth of Trabzonspor topped the goal scoring chart with 24 goals. He was closely followed by Pappis Cisse, who hit 22 for Alanyaspor. Demba Ba scored 13 and was top scorer for champions Istanbul Basaksehir. Who will come out on top this season?
There are factors that have to be taken into account. If a side plays with a single striker then he has greater chances of being on the scoresheet than a striker playing in a two-striker formation for another side. It is also important to understand the mentality of the coach and the side to judge the chances of that striker to find himself on the scoring sheet. Any coach who will happily take a 1-0 score than go for a 2-0 will kill the chances of the striker in adding more goals to his kitty. A talented player for Antalyaspor will have lesser chances of becoming a top scorer than another playing at Galatasaray or Besiktas.
Turkey Super Lig 2020/21: our free betting tips
It was a big season for the Turkish Super Lig in 2019/20. The dominance of Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce was finally broken. Will Istanbul Basaksehir and Trabzonspor be able to again fill the top two spots in the table? Besiktas finished third but there were more unexpected high finishers right behind them. Sivasspor and Alanysapor were fourth and fifth respectively, with defending champions Galatasary down in sixth, 13 points off the top. Fenerbahce were only seventh in the table and didn't qualify for the Europa League. A fascinating battle looks likely this season with the new teams trying to fend off the established ones.
There was no relegation in the 2019/20 season, so Yeni Malatyaspor, Kayserispor and Ankargucu survive. It was close down the bottom of the table last season with only four points covering the bottom seven teams. Promoted to the Super Lig were Hatayspor ( in the Super Lig for the first time in their history), BB Erzurumspor (returning after relegation in 2018/19) and the winner of the 2019–20 TFF First League playoffs, Fatih Karagümrük, back in the top-flight for the first time in 36 years after two successive promotions.
