Round two in Toronto sees 24th seed Tallon Griekspoor up against unseeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The winner goes into the last 32 where the seeded opponent is scheduled to be 14th seed Francisco Cerundolo. Here's our match prediction.

Griekspoor received a bye into round two of this outdoor hard court Masters tournament. The Dutchman is 31st in the live rankings but eight places higher in the ATP Race. He reached the quarter finals of the Bastad clay court tournament in his last outing. Last month also saw him win the Mallorca grass court title.

This is his first hard court match since March. Notable 2025 performances on this surface include a semi-final in Dubai and last eight appearances in Indian Wells and Montpellier. He's had wins over Daniil Medvedev, Ugo Humbert and Alexander Zverev on hard courts this year with an overall 11-6 record.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry had to go to a final set to win his first round match against French qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert.  He's now 59th in the live rankings and that was a welcome win for Etcheverry after six straight losses on grass and clay.

On hard courts this year, the Argentine has a 6-7 record with four of his last five matches lost. We tip Griekspoor to defeat him.
