Ruusuvouri caused a shock in the first round of this indoor hard court tournament with a win over seventh seeded Ugo Humbert who won last week's Marseille event. Ruusuvouri had to go to three sets to get the win, dropping the middle one. That win took him up seven places to 48th in the live rankings and is 24th in the live race. The Finn has reached one final this year, losing to Andrey Rublev in Hong Kong.

Jan-Lennard Struff also had to go to three sets to reach the second round in Rotterdam. He lost the first set to Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina but recovered to win the next two, both via tie-breaks. That victory has seen him at 25th in the live rankings and up to 77th (from 119th) in the live race. The German hasn't made it past the second round of a tournament this year. He reached that stage in Hong Kong and the Australian Open. He's already played 11 tie-breaks this year so a side bet on one in this match looks a possible winner.
