Top seed Holger Rune faces unseeded opposition in the last eight of the Open de Sud France. He's up against Michael Mmoh with the winner facing either unseeded Flavio Cobolli or fourth seed Borna Coric in the semi-final. The top four seeds still remain in this indoor hard court tournament but Rune is yet to face seeded opposition. The world number seven can't climb any higher in the rankings even if winning this tournament. He's already reached one final this year, achieving that in the Brisbane International. He had highs and lows in Australia last month though as Rune was beaten in the second round of the Australian Open. This week he's only played one match to date and that was a straight sets win over qualifier Pedro Llamas Ruiz.

Rune now faces Michael Mmoh who was ranked 133rd at the start of this tournament. His run to this quarter final has seen him rise 18 places in the live list but that's still way below his career high of 81st. The American has had to play two matches to get to this quarter final. Round one saw him defeat fellow unseeded player Benjamin Bonzi. He followed that up by defeating the seventh seed Alexandre Muller and is yet to drop a set in this tournament. This is his fourth event of the year and his first time past the last 16.
