Top seeded Holger Rune has made it to this semi-final without dropping a set. He takes on fourth seed Borna Coric for a place in the Open Sud de France Open final. The world number seven is attempting to reach his second final of the year. The other came in Brisbane but he then lost in the second round of the Australian Open. It’s not been the most difficult of routes for Rune to the semi-final of this indoor hard court tournament. He received a bye into round two and then beat qualifier Pedro Llamas Ruiz in straight sets.No set was dropped in his quarter final against unseeded Michael Mmoh, though the first did go to a tie-break.

Borna Coric was ranked 37th when this tournament began and is up a place in the live rankings. The Croatian has had an inconsistent year so far. He won one and lost one in the United Cup and was beaten in the first round of the Australian Open by 17th seed Frances Tiafoe. Looking for court time he entered a Challenger Tour tournament and made it to the final. Back on the ATP Tour he’s bidding to reach his first final since winning the Cincinnati Masters in 2022. It’s not been a hard tournament so far with two unseeded players faced. Wins over Pedro Martinez and Flavio Cobolli have both been achieved without losing a set. This is by far his toughest match this week and we tip Rune to win in straight sets.
