It's been a miserable season for Derby County and it just keeps getting worse. No manager and bottom of the Championship, they host Wycombe Wanderers who are two places above them. Derby have been in contention for promotion in recent seasons but face a battle to avoid relegation to League One. Wednesday saw them lose 3-0 at Middlesbrough, you know you're bad when Boro score three against you. Wayne Rooney is one of the team in temporary charge but Derby have now lost nine of their 13 league games this season and are six points from safety. They have failed to win any of their last nine matches and only scored in one of the last seven. Only Coventry City have conceded more goals than them in the Championship this season. Martin Waghorn is their top scorer with just two goals and none in the last five. Home form has seen Derby earn just one point from six games with just one goal scored, these are dark days for the former English champions.

Wycombe Wanders are in the Championship for the first time. Many believe they have reached a level that is too high for a club that has spent the vast majority of its life in non-league football. They seemed to be proved right when Wycombe lost their first seven league games. However, since then, they have earned nine points in six games losing just one of them. They are now 22nd, in the relegation zone but only three points from safety and three ahead of Derby. Their last two league games have both ended 0-0, not bad after conceding 19 in their first 11 league matches. Away form has seen them win at Birmingham but lose the other five. They take on a Derby side that is struggling to score, has no full-time manager and just in terrible form. Wycombe have a lot of work to do to avoid relegation but they are in better form.
