Aston Villa - Nottingham Forest: Form Analysis
Aston Villa won 3-2 at Brugge in the Champions League in midweek. The hope will be that their first win of the new season will boost their confidence. Just like last season, they have made a poor start to the new term and have just one point from three league games.
Oh for a league goal!
One league point, but not a single goal so far. They began with a disastrous 4-0 loss at Brighton, all the goals being conceded in the first half. A 1-0 home loss to Arsenal followed and last weekend, they again drew a blank with a goalless draw at Hull before their Champions League success.
Nottingham Forest also struggled early on last season. This term has seen them again struggling with two draws and one defeat. Their three league matches have only seen five goals scored, and four of those came in the 2-2 home draw with Liverpool.
Their other two league fixtures were a 1-0 home loss to Leeds and a goalless draw at the City Ground with Spurs. They also lost 2-0 to Leeds in the Carabao Cup.

Aston Villa lost some key players during the summer transfer window, including three England internationals. They must be so envious of how well Rogers has started at Chelsea. Villa come into this match with a whole host of injury problems to deal with.
Players such as Onana, Majo and Goretzka are out and Joao Gomes is suspended after being sent off at Brighton. Matty Cash is a doubt after missing the welcome away win in the Champions League. It's likely Aaron Wan-Bissaka will remain in the starting line-up. Taylor Harwood-Bellis is available for selection.
Can Jackson score again?
The key aim for Villa is just as it was this time last season. They don't just need to start earning points, but score some goals. New signing Nicholas Jackson scored against Brugge and hopefully, that might be a turning point for Aston Villa's season.
Nottingham Forest missed out on Europe this season. Last term's Europa League campaign ended with a semi-final loss to eventual winners Aston Villa. Not playing in Europe and already having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup does at least mean they will have a lighter playing schedule this year.
That doesn't mean they don't have injury problems ahead of this match. Nicola Savona is out injured and there'll be a fitness test for Ibrahim Sangare. James McAtee will play if Sangare isn't fit enough to play at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon and he has already been sucessful in creating chances. Daniel Munoz may make his full debut.
