Brighton’s first home match of the season will be against Newcastle United in the Premier League. The two face off on Saturday in Match Week 2 action that comes on the back of opening wins. Newcastle United beat new boys Nottingham Forest 2-0 as Brighton saw off giants Manchester United 2-1 in their first league games of the season. Brighton did not have a very impressive home run at home last season and will want to rectify that this term. They won just five of their 19 home league games, a run they will have to improve on. At this point of the season, the stakes aren’t so high, but bagging three points this early can go a long way in building a team’s confidence, so we are expecting an entertaining end to end affair.

Newcastle United will miss Jonjo Shelvey in this game; he is injured but Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes should be able to take care of the midfield duties while Fabian Schar and Callum Wilson will be hoping to extend their scoring run after getting to the score sheet on Match Week 1. Nick Pope kept a clean sheet on his Magpies debut and he will be expected to keep his place for this game. Sven Botman started on the bench despite a big money move. The plan may be to gradually introduce him to the league and he may start this on the bench as well. Brighton’s main man in their opening win was Pascal Gross, with a first half brace. He will be very confident heading to this game, and a starting berth seems assured. Robert Sanchez had a great game in goal too, and was unfortunate to concede through an own goal and will be targeting a first clean sheet of the season.
