Tottenham start the weekend in fifth place in the Premier League, three points behind Liverpool. This game takes place on Saturday, a day before Liverpool host Manchester City and this weekend must be a chance for the London side to narrow the gap. They take on an Everton side who aren't struggling as badly as they did earlier in the season but could do with a win to restore confidence. Since that poor run in November, Spurs have only suffered one defeat in their last nine league and cup games and that was a loss away to runaway league leaders Manchester City. Home form has been strong with no defeats in the last nine in all competitions, though they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham in their last home league game. The talk of the Wembley hoodoo must be over now considering they have only lost one of 11 home games in the Premier League. Everton have recovered well from that disastrous start to the season and begin the weekend in ninth place. In most seasons, that would be no cause for concern but the fact is Everton are only seven points above the bottom three. Their next away game is at Arsenal and two successive home games against West Brom and Leicester will decide whether Everton will make a push for the seventh place that could get them in the Europa League or face a relegation battle. The Toffees have lost their last three games and they are five without a win with only two goals scored. They have signed Cenk Tosun and it's important that he settles in and starts scoring as soon as possible. Away from home, Everton have only one league win and the tip here is for a home win for Tottenham.
