Portsmouth had a big win on Sunday when beating Championship leaders Leeds United 1-0 at home. They are 17th in the table and on Wednesday are home to bottom-of-the-table Plymouth. Will it be another home win for Pompey? Read our match prediction.
The season started slowly for Pompey and the newly-promoted club were in the relegation zone. The win over Leeds on Sunday has taken them ten points clear of the bottom three and they'll be confident of another victory on Wednesday night.
A form guide for the last five league games has them in third position. Four of their last five league games have been won and each of their last three at Fratton Park.
Plymouth Argyle's FA Cup run is over and they now face a battle to avoid relegation. The weekend saw them lose 3-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and with Derby winning, the Pilgrims are now bottom of the league.
They are six points from safety but with their appalling goal difference, it's virtually seven. Argyle have gone six league and cup games without a win. On the road, Plymouth have earned just five points from 18 league games with six goals scored and 42 conceded.
We tip Portsmouth to get the win.

Our Portsmouth vs Plymouth Prediction
Portsmouth have a good chance to continue their impressive form. They have won four of their last five league games and are now ten points clear of the relegation zone. Sunday saw them beat the side top of the table and now they host the club bottom of the league.
Plymouth had their FA Cup run and a brief revival in the Championship but their form has again dipped. Their away record is appalling and far too many goals are being conceded. Our Portsmouth v Plymouth prediction is Portsmouth to win.
