It's a long trip down to the south coast on Saturday afternoon as Burnley heads to Portsmouth for a Championship match. Pompey are in 21st in the table ahead of our prediction on the contest while the Clarets are in 3rd.

A loss at home to Millwall in midweek will have been disappointing for Portsmouth, especially as it ended a run of seven games unbeaten which included six wins. That run has been enough to just lift them out of the relegation zone. 

Three of those wins, Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Coventry all came over teams in the top half. They have shown that they are capable of getting a result but this is a different level of opponent.

Burnley is on a run defensively that has not been seen often in the past. They have only conceded nine times in the league all season in their first 29 games, only losing two games in total.

Both of those losses have come on the road at Sunderland and Millwall, teams that have a solid record at the back themselves. Less than 50% of their away games have had two or more goals in them, averaging just 1.73.
