Saturday’s A-League action will draw to a close with Perth Glory playing host to Wellington Phoenix at HBF Park. The Glory and the Nix ended the 2024-25 regular season in 13th and 11th place, respectively. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

For a second season in a row, Perth Glory ended the 2024-25 top-flight campaign bottom of the table, managing to earn just 17 points in 26 games, including only four wins (W4 D5 L17). 

The Glory’s pre-season has not been very promising either, as they were knocked out of the Australian Cup in the second round and lost all three friendlies without scoring a single goal while conceding 13. 

The hosts only won two of their 13 home games last term (W2 D2 L9). They also scored the fewest goals in the division at home (11) and conceded the most (29). 

Meanwhile, last season was an absolute nightmare for Wellington Phoenix, as they had to settle for an 11th-place finish with only 24 points, having ended as runners-up in the top flight the previous campaign. 

However, the Nix had a fairly impressive run in the Australian Cup during the offseason, reaching the quarter-finals before bowing out to Heidelberg United 4-0 in August. 

While the visitors only managed four away wins last season, they did beat this opponent 2-0 at this venue and are unbeaten against them in their last eight games on the road in all competitions.
