Oakland Athletics top the American League West with a 16-8 season record. That puts them three wins ahead of the Houston Astros and only the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins have won as many games as Oakland this season in the American League. They have seen their record dented a bit in recent days with two losses away to their opponents in this game. Form at home is a lot better than their away record though and they will expect to get back into winning ways in this match. Oakland have won nine of their 12 home matches, compared to seven from the same number on their travels. That away form has been boosted a bit of late thanks to some three wins at struggling San Francisco Giants. Their last six at home have all been won and they will be confident of making it a magnificent seven.

Arizona are second in the National League West with a 13-11 season record. That puts them third in that division behind the Colorado Rockies (13-10) and Los Angeles Dodgers (18-7). Their 12 away games have only produced five wins but they still have a good chance of making it into the play-offs. Their last five games have all been won but all of those were on home turf. Now they have to try and repeat the home wins over Oakland on the road. That looks a tough task though and the tip here is for Oakland to get the win.
