With the quality in the Wolves side, the team newly promoted from the Championship was expected to challenge for a top four position but while they have had some flashes of brilliance, there has been some form of inconsistency in their run. Newcastle have won in the last two meetings with Wolves and none of the last three matches between the two has yielded over 2.5 goals. Newcastle have won five of the last 10 meetings with Wolves while Wolves have one win, with four matches ending in draws.
