Third-placed New Zealand face leaders Australia in this Rugby Championship matchday five fixture on Saturday. The All Blacks will aim to strengthen their bid for their 21st Rugby Championship title with a win against the Wallabies. Here is our prediction for the match.
New Zealand’s Rugby Championship campaign this season has been a tale of mixed fortunes. They started brilliantly, defeating Argentina 41-24, but lost the second Test against the Pumas.
Scott Robertson’s side also failed short of completing a clean sweep of their home Test series against South Africa in the competition. They suffered a shock 43-10 defeat to the Springboks – their heaviest defeat in history. Nonetheless, they are still strong favourites to win this match having won six of their last eight matches, mostly by wide margins. They have also won six of their last seven home fixtures.
Australia are also inconsistent in their 2025 Rugby Championship campaign. They have lost two of their four games, including a narrow 28-26 home defeat to Argentina in their recent outing.
Joe Schmidt’s side haven't been fortunate on the road lately. They have lost three of their last four matches, including in their last nine encounters with New Zealand.
