The New Orleans Pelicans will play host to the Atlanta Hawks at the Smoothie King Center in the NBA on Saturday night. The Pels (2-14) are bottom of the Western Conference standings, while the Hawks (9-7) are seventh in the East. Let’s get into the match prediction.

It’s looking like it’s going to be another long and painful season for the New Orleans Pelicans, who are now on an eight-match losing streak after going down 118-115 to the Dallas Mavericks last night. 

Trey Murphy’s performances this season have been about the only positive we can point to for the Pels. As a team, they rank bottom five in both offensive and defensive ratings.

Zion Williamson and Jordan Poole have missed most of the team’s games this season, and the latter is ruled out for this one, along with Dejounte Murray and Karlo Matkovic. 

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have lost their last two games following a five-match win streak, but those defeats were against the Pistons and Spurs - two sides that have been very good this season.

With Trae Young sidelined, Nickeil Alexander-Walker drained eight three against San Antonio last time en route to 38 points. As a team, Atlanta shot 56% from the field and made 20 of 37 attempts from range. 

Young has been ruled out for this match, along with Eli John Ndiaye. Onyeka Okongwu is a doubt.
