Liverpool lost out by a point last season but are determined to finally win the Premier League this time around. They have made the strongest possible start to the new season with four wins out of four to lead the table by two points from Manchester City. This is the first Premier League fixture of the weekend, so a home win for Liverpool will take them five points clear. A victory over Newcastle is the most likely result in this game. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 42 home league games with the last nine all being won. It's 25 years since they last lost a home league game to Newcastle and with no major problems reported after the international break, Liverpool will be firing on all cylinders.

Newcastle United begin the weekend in 14th place and are only a point above the bottom three. Life under new coach Steve Bruce didn't start well with a home defeat by Arsenal followed by defeat at Norwich City (both teams that have been beaten by Liverpool this season). Their only league win came away at Tottenham but then they failed to beat bottom of the table Watford, having to come from behind to get a 1-1 home draw. Only two of their last seven league games have been won and that should be extended this weekend. Go for Liverpool to get a home win and be leading at both half and full time.
