Third-placed Italy faces bottom-placed Brazil on Sunday in the final round of Group D matches in the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup. The Blues, ranked 17 places above the Yaras, will look to round off their campaign with a win having missed out on the knockout stage. Check out our prediction for the match.

After a 24-0 opening loss to France, Italy needed a win against South Africa in their second match to stay in contention for a place in the round of 16 of the Women's Rugby World Cup. The fiercely contested clash against the Springbok Women nearly ended in a draw before Sinazo Mcatshulwa's decisive late try condemned the Blues to their second consecutive group loss.

This result quashed Fabio Roselli's side's knockout-stage dreams as they slipped to third in the standings with just two bonus points. They only have their pride on the line trading tackles with Brazil on Sunday.

Brazil are also out of the competition following straight defeats in their two group matches. The Yaras lost by 60 points to South Africa in their opening match and settled for another heavy 84-5 defeat against France in their second match. They have lost their last four matches and will face a tall order reversing this misfortune against higher-ranked opponents Italy.
