Hugo Gaston vs Christian Garin Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Swiss Open Gstaad

Cristian Garin is the fourth seed and takes on unseeded Hugo Gaston in the last eight of the clay court Swiss Open. The winner will face either seventh seeded Laslo Djere or Arthur Rinderkneck in the semi-finals. Garin is world ranked 19th, just a place below his highest ever ranking achieved last year. He has a good record on this surface with a tournament victory in Santiago five months ago. Garin also got to the last eight of the Estoril and Madrid tournaments. He also got to the last sixteen at Roland Garros, being beaten by Daniil Medvedev, who he had beaten in Madrid. Another last sixteen was reached at Wimbledon before being knocked out by eventual winner Novak Djokovic. Last week saw him beaten in the last eight of the Swedish Open. He's had one match this week, getting the better of Marc Polmans for the loss of only three games (all lost in the first set).

Hugo Gaston is down at 155 in the rankings and his highest ever position is 141st achieved a couple of months ago. A win over Garin will see him climb up to 136th but it looks a tough challenge for the Frenchman. Gaston has had success on the Challenger Tour, losing in the final in Rome in April. Another defeat in a final was achieved in Romania last week, so he's arrived in Switzerland in good form but now steps up to ATP level. This week has seen him beat Juan Manuel Cerendulo in straight sets and fiffth seeded Federico Delbonis. He won the first set of that match to love, lost the second on a tie-break and then recovered to win the final set, again a tie-break. This is much tougher, back Garin to win the match, a side bet on a tie-break might be a winner.
