Unseeded Aleksandar Vukic attempts to defeat another seed in Toronto. He takes on seventh seed Frances Tiafoe in round three of this outdoor hard court Canadian Open. Time for our match prediction.

Frances Tiafoe is finally having a run in this tournament. The American had failed to get a victory in this Masters event since 2022. He reached the quarter-finals of the Washington hard court tournament last week, the first time he'd got to that stage this year.

After receiving a bye in round one, the 27-year-old beat Yosuke Watanuki but it was not a comfortable victory. Just one game was won in the first set but Tiafoe fought back to avoid an upset. He's now 13th in the live rankings.

Aleksandar Vukic knocked out 31st seed Cameron Norrie in round two but needed three sets. Before that, the Australian had beaten Pedro Martinez in straight sets. Round three was reached in the Australian Open this year but he's struggled on this surface since then.

This is the first time since that Grand Slam that the 29-year-old has won two consecutive matches in an ATP Tour hard court event. His wins this week have taken him to 94th in the live list. We tip Tiafoe to win in straight sets.
