Fabian Marozsan vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Dubai Open

EIghth seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina takes on unseeded Fabio Marozsan in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships. This is an outdoor hard court tournament and the winner will be up against either Borna Coric or Doha finalist Jakub Mensik  Fokina is at 24th in the live rankings and that's only three places below his career high. He's won five of his nine matches this year and has reached one ATP Tour quarter final. That was in Marseille where he was eventually beaten by Ugo Humbert who went on to win the tournament. His most recent event was played in Doha where he was beaten in his first match by possible second round opponent Jakub Mensik. Fokina is 64th in the ATP Live Race that is based on ranking points earned this season. That's 18 places higher than his opponent at the time of writing this preview on February 24.

Fabio Marozsan is down at 59th in the live rankings.He's won four of his nine matches in 2024 and most recently was beaten in round two of the Doha hard court tournament by the eventual champion Karen Khachanov. The Hungarian's best performance this year was making it to the third round in the Australian Open. He had wins over veteran Marin Cilic and Francisco Cerundolo before being knocked out by Taylor Fritz. He hasn't really built on that though and comes into this tournament having lost four of his last five matches. We tip Fokina to get the victory here.
