Brazil vs Argentina Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Nella Wagah | in World Cup Prediction
Brazil and Argentina will renew their rivalry just over two months after meeting in the Copa America final, which Argentina won in Brazil. This time they face off in the World Cup qualifier hosted by Brazil, who will not just be looking to avenge the Copa America loss, but also open up a nine-point lead. Brazil leads with 21 points ahead of second placed Argentina who have 15 points. Brazil are coming from a slim 1-0 win over Chile in Santiago and will hope to keep their perfect run when they get to play at home. They will however be disadvantaged in missing most of their top players. Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus, Thiago Silva, Firmino, Ederson Moraes and Fred are all missing after failing to get club clearance to travel to South America. Even with the absences, Everton Riberio scored the sole goal against Chile to keep Brazil’s good run in the qualifiers going. They’ve however not scored more than a goal in their last five matches, each of which ended in under 2.5 goals. They are unbeaten in 24 World Cup qualification matches, winning 19, but will be wary of their visitors, having lost in their last two meetings. Each of their last five meetings has produced under 2.5 goals.
Argentina had a comfortable outing on Thursday, beating Venezuela 3-1 away in Caracas for their fourth win in five matches. They are now unbeaten in 21 matches and having scored three or more in three of their last five matches, will be very confident here. However, they have only two clean sheets in their last five matches. Both teams have scored in three of their last five matches and they’ve suffered two losses in their last five meetings with Brazil. In World Cup qualifiers, Argentina haven’t tasted defeat in the last 11 matches, winning five. They have four wins in five World Cup qualification matches away from home.

Our Brazil vs Argentina Prediction
These two rivals face off on the back of wins in their previous matches, and as always, separating them is tough. However, one stat that stands out, their recent meetings have been cagey affairs, resulting in low scores. None of the last five has produced over 2.5 goals and Brazil’s last five matches have also produced under 2.5 goals. Go for under 2.5 goals here.
