We head to King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on Monday for a blockbuster UEFA Nations League Group A1 clash between Belgium and France. The last time these two met, the scoreline ended 2-1at this very stadium in October 2024, and we fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet again here, as discussed in our prediction below!
Mark van Bommel’s tenure in charge of the Red Devils got off to a winning start, as his side secured an impressive victory over Italy last week. This is a much sterner test for the new boss, though, as Belgium have not beaten this opponent in over a decade, when Marc Wilmots was still at the helm.

Belgium - France: Form Analysis
After reaching the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup back in July, Belgium kicked off their UEFA Nations League campaign with a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Italy in Rome on Friday night.

Meanwhile, after losing the third-place playoff to England in a 10-goal thriller at the World Cup, France returned to action with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Turkey in Kocaeli on Friday night.
Les Bleus dominated possession in that match (64%) but only managed 1.17 xG to their opponents' 1.21. They created just two big chances and recorded only four shots on target across the 90.

Even at 35, Kevin De Bruyne continues to show why he is still one of the most influential players in world football. The Napoli midfielder recorded a match-high five key passes, including an assist in just 58 minutes on the pitch.
Mika Godts opened the scoring for Belgium, while Dodi Lukebakio needed just 11 minutes off the bench to find the back of the net, and he is likely to replace Diego Moreira in the starting lineup for this match.
Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere will likely continue to lead the line, with Romelu Lukaku still having his minutes managed. Belgium came out of the last match with no new injury concerns.

Zidane opted for Rayan Cherki and Adrien Rabiot alongside Manu Kone in midfield in Kocaeli, but there is a very good chance that one of the former two will give way for Eduardo Camavinga in this match.
