It's only the third set of fixtures in the Belarus Premier League but the top two meet this weekend. FC Minsk top the table on goal difference from oppoents Energetik-BGU. Both sides have won their opening two games and lead the table from Zhodino and Ishloch Minsk, also with maximum points. Energetik only just survived relegation last season but did end with an unbeaten run of five games to leave them three points above the bottom three. They have maintained that good run this season and started with a comfortable 3-1 home win over BATE Borisov who finished second in the table last season with two goals from their Uzbekistan striker Jasur Jakhshibaev. Energetik made it two wins out of two when winning 1-0 away at newly promoted Rukh Brest. That made it just one loss in their last six away league matches. Both teams have scored in four of their last five games in the Belarus Premier League and seven out of eight at home.

FC Minsk finished two places and three points above their opponents last season. The new campaign began disappointingly as they went 1-0 down at Belshina in seven minutes. They rallied well though and three second half goals saw them start the season with a win. Their good run continued as they beat local rivals Dinamo Minsk 3-2. They went ahead in the first minute and were 3-0 up at half-time. Two late goals from the away side made it look closer than it was. Each of their last three league games have seen both teams score and three of their last five on the road ended that way too. Last season's trip to Energetik ended in a 3-3 draw but towards the end of the season, Energetik went to Minsk and won 6-1. Another open game looks likely here and a bet on both sides netting can be a winner.
