Ugo Humbert vs Botic Van De Zandschulp Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mutua Madrid Open

Ugo Humbert is seeded 13th for the Madrid Masters outdoor clay court tournament. He takes on unseeded Botic van de Zandschulp for a place in the last 32. Up next will be either 23rd seed Jan-Lennard Struff (winner of last week's BMW Open) or unseeded Jaume Munar. Humbert has had an excellent year with two hard court titles being won. He's down a place at 15th in the live rankings and 11th in the ATP Race. On clay this year he got to the last eight in Monte Carlo but lost in his first match in Barcelona. He'll hope to make it past round two at Roland Garros this year having never done so in the past. A win here will be in first in this tournament having failed to win in his four previous visits.

Botic van de Zandschulp has slipped out of the top 100. He's at 110th in the live rankings and just a couple of places higher in the ATP Race. The Dutchman has had three previous matches against Humbert and is yet to beat him. Their first match was played in 2017 and that's the only one that was on clay. Van de Zandschulp was as high as 22nd two years ago but has been struggling for form. Before this tournament he'd played five matches on clay this year and lost three of them, one in which he had to retire. He beat unseeded Christopher Eubanks in round one for the loss of only five games. Good form on clay has been shown in the past and he made the final in Bavaria last year. He's not in that form at present and we tip Humbert to get the win.
