TP Mazembe will be going for their first win in Group B of the CAF Champions League when they host South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday. The Congolese heavyweights have drawn both matches in the group and with two points, are second, four points behind Sundowns, the group leaders. Mazembe have registered draws with Belouizdad and Al Hilal Omdurman and carry to this game a 21-match unbeaten run. They’ve struggled a bit in attack lately, failing to score in three of their last four matches, even as they look to shock the group leaders. The home side last suffered a loss in February 2020, against Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca. Sundowns march to this game on three clean sheets in the last five matches and having scored 14 and conceded three in the last five matches. In their last Group B match, they whacked 10-man Belouizdad 5-1 in a match played in Tanzania. Sundowns will be very confident even as they head to one of the toughest venues in Africa, as they have no loss in 13 away matches, winning nine. Kermit Erasmus has been a key man for the South Africans and in the last game he showed it with a late goal after coming from the bench, his third goals in the last three Champions League matches. He will be relied upon again as Sundowns try to extend their five match unbeaten run in the Champions League, which has four straight wins. They have two straight away wins, and one loss in the last seven Champions League matches and have failed to score in three of their last 10 away matches in the competition. This fixture has always favored the team playing at home. The last time they met, in the 2017 Super Cup, Sundowns won 1-0, to lead 3-2 in the head to head standings.
