Rangers vs Kilmarnock Prediction & Betting Tips - Premiership

Rangers host Kilmarnock for the second round of the Scottish Premiership. After narrowly beating Livingston for the first round, the Gers suffered a surprising defeat to Belgian side Union SG, and now have a mountain to climb to progress to the play offs of Europe’s elite competition. That defeat was also the first competitive one in normal time, after eight unbeaten games. The truth however is that Rangers do not look at their best. The long term absence of Ianis Hagi and the injuries to Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos have left the Glasgow side weakened in attack and have thus lost three of their last six games, failing to score in two of those. They should not face too many difficulties in their hosting of Kilmarnock however, whom they have beaten six times in their last seven meetings at the Ibrox. 

Kilmarnock’s first place in last season’s Scottish Championship was enough to secure their participation at the country’s top flight. The visitors have also been on a great run since then, being unbeaten in normal time in twelve games on the spin. Their top flight premiere ended with a draw against Dundee United, at a game where they were vastly superior yet failed to take advantage of their chances. Kilmarnock have also been impressive on the road recently. Specifically, they have recorded just one defeat in their last eleven outings, failing to score in just one of those. However, visiting a pumping Ibrox side, even at the midst of a European qualifier is a much more daunting prospect, and Kilmarnock have not fared that great there in recent seasons.
