Peterborough United are second in League One and host Chorley from the National League North. The home side have won nine of their 14 league games this season. They had lost two in a row but bounced back to form with a 1-0 home win over Plymouth on Tuesday and are only two points behind leaders Hull City. Home form is strong with one loss in the last nine. The first round of this season’s FA Cup saw them beat League One Oxford United 2-1 away. Only once in the past 14 seasons have Peterborough missed out on reaching the third round of this competition. Just one of their last eight home cup ties has been lost and that was to Premier League side Leicester City.

Chorley play three league below their opponents . This is only the third time they have made it this far in the FA Cup. Chorley are struggling in their league, currently 19th of 22 teams with just one win compared to three in the FA Cup. This weekend they were due to host Kettering Town, who are the all-time top scorers in the FA Cup. Their season began with four successive league losses but since then, they have had a win and two draws. Over 90 minutes, they have just one win in their last six matches, the most recent being a 2-2 draw at Hereford, where they took the lead in the 87th minute but conceded an equalizer a minute later.
