Nigeria and Tunisia clash next in the most anticipated game of Group C. The Super Eagles and Eagles of Carthage are off to a great start after winning their opening games. You can just feel that the winner of this round 2 clash will go on to top Group C. Let's get into the match prediction.

Nigeria, the Group C favourites, comfortably beat Tanzania 2-1 in a match that could have ended 4-1 or more. The Super Eagles missed three big chances, but goals from Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman sealed the victory in Morocco. For Nigeria, the 2025 AFCON, which they last won in 2013, will offer a chance at redemption after the nation failed to qualify for back-to-back World Cups for the first time since the 90’s.

However, Tunisia stands in the way of a favourable first-place finish in Group C. The Eagles of Carthage cruised past Uganda in a 3-1 victory. That win propelled them to 1st in Group C due to goal difference. While Nigeria are the better team on paper, Tunisia's year has been more impressive following their brilliant World Cup run. In the CAF WC qualifiers, Tunisia won nine of ten games, scored 22 goals (2.2 per game), and conceded 0 in Group H.

Nigeria - Tunisia: Form Analysis

The Super Eagles have been relatively good under new coach Eric Chelle. Since joining Nigeria earlier this year, Chelle has coached Nigeria to nine wins in 16 games.

Before their 2-1 victory over Tanzania, Nigeria tested their mettle in a 2-1 defeat to Egypt. But right before was their bitter WC qualification final defeat to DR Congo on penalties.

Nigeria has now lost only one of its last eight competitive games, recording six victories and a draw.

The Eagles of Carthage are also flying high with the senior team. If we leave out the Arab Cup, which typically isn't played by the senior team, and international friendlies, Tunisia has now won seven straight games.

The 3-1 win against Uganda also made it 19 goals in that span, with only a single goal conceded. Outside official competitions, Tunisia had a chance to face Brazil in an international friendly last month and performed incredibly.

Against a Brazil lineup featuring Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Cunha, Estevao, and several other first-team players, Tunisia walked away with a 1-1 draw. That game, where Tunisia faced 21 shots while conceding only one, showed just how good they are defensively.

Nigeria & Tunisia Squad Analysis

Although Victor Osimhen didn't get in the scoresheet in the opener against Tanzania, he wasn't anything but quiet in that game.

Osimhen attempted seven of Nigeria’s 21 shots against Tanzania, and Tunisia might not be so lucky if they allow the Super Eagles skipper that many chances.

Osimhen, the reigning Turkish League Golden Boot winner, has scored the most goals for Nigeria in 2025 (8).

Lookman netted the goal that sealed the game for Nigeria, breaking his 5-game goal drought for club and country.

But while Tunisia must watch out for Lookman and Osimhen, two of the last three African Players of the Year, the Super Eagles' backing must watch Elias Achouri closely.

Achouri netted two against Uganda, making him one of the only three players to score 2+ goals in the 2025 AFCON so far. What's more, the Copenhagen winger now has 5 G/A in his last five games.

Nigeria vs Tunisia - Other Interesting Predictions

Tunisia over 0.5 goals

Odds 1.56
Although Nigeria are the favourite to net the first goal, Tunisia is just as likely to score, and may end up being the only team to do so. Eagles of Carthage have scored in each of their last seven games, and netted 19 goals in that span to average 2.7 per game. What's even more interesting is the Super Eagles' inability to keep a clean sheet. They've conceded goals in their last four games, six of the last seven, and 13 of the last 16.
