Hearts begin their Scottish Premiership campaign against Celtic at Tynecastle Park. Following their relegation from the top-flight at the end of the 2019/20 season, Hearts have now returned to the Premiership in their first attempt. The Edinburgh-based club emerged winners of the Scottish Championship and will look to turn over a new page against Celtic on opening day of the season.

On the other hand, Celtic are keen to put the disappointment of last season behind them. The Bhoys surrendered their dominance in Scotland to arch-rivals Rangers last term. Celtic could only finish second but that does not explain everything. The club were 25 points behind champions Rangers and were left with the bitter taste in their mouth in the end. Following their disappointing campaign, Celtic have roped in Australian coach Ange Postecoglou to try and overturn their fortunes. Understandably, the tactician will have a tough ask considering how Rangers were unbeaten in the league last term.

The Old Firm giants head into the Premiership opener against Hearts on the back of being dumped by FC Midtjylland in the Champions League qualifying rounds. With the club seeking a remarkable change in their fortunes, the importance of a winning start cannot be stressed enough. It will be interesting to see if they can get the better of Hearts, especially away from home on the opening day.
