Dulwich Hamlet vs Carlisle United Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup

The FA Cup has reached its first round stage and this is when the League One and Two clubs enter the fray. Carlisle United are 19th in League Two and face a difficult trip to Dulwich Hamlet who are 15th in National League South.  The non-league team are two divisions below their opponents and have had to go through three qualifying rounds to reach the first round.for the first time in 21 years and only the second in 71. They have had few problems qualifying this season though with home wins over Bognor Regis Town and Eastbourne Borough before winning 2-1 at Havant & Waterlooville who are 13 places higher than them in the National League South. Dulwich Hamlet have been struggling in the league with only two points from their last six home games. This is a step up for them considering their lack of experience against Football League clubs.

Only once in the last 11 seasons have Carlisle United failed to make it into the second round of the FA Cup. They are down towards the bottom of League Two this season with 18 points from 17 games. That has put them five points above the one relegation spot and nine adrift of the final promotion play-off position. Form has picked up a bit in recent weeks though with four points earned from their past two games. Over the past four years, only two of eight away FA Cup ties have been lost, one to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. This won't be easy for Carlisle and the non-league side are likely to come out all guns ablazing. Carlisle will do all they can to weather that storm and they can get the away win here.
