Chorley vs Wolves Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup

The fourth round of the FA Cup presents another opportunity for a giant-killing to occur when Chorley take on Wolves at The Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium. Plying their trade in the sixth tier of English football, Chorley made headlines in the last round when they knocked out Championship side Derby County. Their mammoth task became more manageable when the senior squad of Derby had to self-isolate following a Covid-19 outbreak, but that shouldn't take away from the feat Chorley accomplished when they beat the depleted Rams. Now, they hope to knock out a Wolves team who are familiar opposition for Chorley, Back in 1986, Chorley hosted Wolves (then in the fourth tier of English football) and beat them 3-0. That's an unlikely result this weekend but it is the FA Cup.

Wolves beat Crystal Palace in the third round.  While they have not been at their best this season - they failed to win eight of their last nine league games - they are unlikely to succumb to the humiliation Chorley could inflict (again). Having said that, Wolves have a poor away record in the FA Cup. They failed to win 11 of their last 14 away games in this competition. That run dates back to 2010. Meanwhile, Chorley are unbeaten in their previous seven home fixtures in the FA Cup. Three of the last four of those matches were victories with clean sheets. It is unlikely that they will accomplish this feat against Wolves though. Wolves are unbeaten in their past three FA Cup games against lower-league opposition, and they should be able to play Chorley off the park comfortably. This game will be an opportunity to recover confidence. Back Wolves to win by three clear goals.
