Cameroon vs Mali Prediction & Betting Tips - African Nations Championship

Cameroon are the hosts for the African Nations Championship and continue their campaign with a group game against Mali. Both teams come into this game having won their opening group match. Cameroon beat Zimbabwe 1-0 with a goal by Saloman Banga 18 minutes from time giving them three points. That's put them top of Group A ahead of their opponents in this second group fixture. Cameroon haven't had an easy build-up for these championships where only those playing for club sides in Africa can take part. The country hasn't had an active league since last March. They will look to at least repeat their performance in 2016 when reaching the quarter finals. A win over Mali (ranked seven places below them) will see them achieve that aim. Not many goals may be scored though with 10 of their last 12 internationals having under 2.5 goals scored in them.

Mali beat Guinea-Bissau and Mauritania to reach these finals. They lost in the 2016 final but failed to qualify for the 2018 event. It's going better this time though and they began this group with a 1-0 win over Burkina Faso, thanks to a 70th minute goal from Siaka Bagayoko. The rules for this championship has caused them to have to make many changes to their regular squad. Southampton's Moussa Djenepo and Abdoulay Diaby are out. Also missing will be the dozen players picked for their last Africa Cup of Nations match who all play in France. Two of their last three games have ended 1-0 with three out of five having under 2.5 goals scored in them. A bet on that stat coming up in this game is the one to go for.
