Turkish Super Lig title hopefuls Fenerbahce will travel to Alanyaspor on Sunday for the Round 26 match in the league. Fenerbahce are second in the standings with 51 points while Alanyaspor are 11th with 28 points. Alanyaspor have been on a downward spiral since the start of the year and have lost six matches out of the nine they have played across all competitions. This has seen them get eliminated from the Cup as well as drop down to the relegation picture. Though 11th in the 19-team league, Alanyaspor are only four points above the drop zone. Their Achilles heel has been a leaky defence which has let in 43 goals all season, which is tied for the third-worst tally in the league.

Fenerbahce were eliminated from the Europa League in midweek and will want to bounce back from the disappointment with a win on Sunday. They trailed leaders Galatasaray by nine points before this round but have two games in hand so are very much in the title picture. Fener have the league’s best attack with 58 goals scored thus far and against a struggling side like Alanyaspor, will want to better this tally even further. They have a pivotal clash against Besiktas coming up after this and know if they drop points here, they can be out of the title picture completely by the time the final whistle blows in a week’s time.
