Newcastle United are struggling in their bid to secure European football next season. They are only tenth in the Premier League and host West Ham United who are three places and four points above them. Losing this match really is out of the question for the Magpies. They come into this match having lost their last two fixtures before the international break. Their last Premier League game saw them lose 3-2 at Chelsea. That was followed by a 2-0 loss at Manchester City in the FA Cup. United have only won two of their last six league matches and their home form is a worry too. They'd won eight at home in the Premier League but then went four without a victory before beating Wolves 3-0. That was a rare clean sheet for them and the previous four Premier League home matches had seen both teams score. That was also the case in the reverse fixture with West Ham in October which ended in a 2-2 draw.

West Ham United still have an exciting end to the season ahead of them. They are in the last eight of the Europa League and seventh in the Premier League. Their last two league matches have both ended in score draws. They are unbeaten in their last four league fixtures but remain inconsistent on the road. Six of their 14 away league games have been won but the same number lost. Their last away game in the Premier League saw them win at Everton but that ended a run of three without a win.
