Senegal vs Congo DR Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup

CAF World Cup qualifiers return this week, and in Group B, we will see Senegal playing host to DR Congo on Thursday evening. The hosts currently lead the group standings, while the visitors are third. Senegal are aiming to qualify for the World Cup for the fourth time in their history after doing so in 2002, 2018, and 2022.  At the last event, they made it to the round of 16 before bowing out to England. The Lions of Teranga have already taken top-spot in their group, currently on four points after their first two games, though Sudan are only behind them on goal difference. Senegal got their qualification campaign off to the perfect start, beating South Sudan 4-0 on the road before an unexpected goalless draw away to Togo a few days later. At the Africa Cup of Nations, the Lions of Teranga reached the quarter-final, where they were beaten on penalties by eventual winners Ivory Coast. That remains the only defeat they have conceded in their last ten games in all competitions. The hosts are on a four-match winning streak against his opponent and are the clear favourites in this one. 

Meanwhile, DR Congo are coming into these qualifiers following an excellent Africa Cup of Nations. At the AFCON, they finished fourth after a narrow loss to South Africa in the bronze-medal match but recorded several impressive results up to that point, including holding Egypt to a draw and beating Guinea 3-1. In this competition, they also made a positive start, beating Mauritania 2-0 in their opening match but were beaten by Sudan in match two. Prior to the AFCON, the Leopards’ form had been poor, with just one win in their preceding seven games, along with three draws and three losses. Excluding AFCON games, DR Congo have failed to win any of their last four away games (W0 D2 L2). They are also winless in their last six encounters against this opponent.
