League One side Charlton has an away match at second tier side Preston in the third round of the FA Cup this Saturday. Both sides are having tough campaigns in their respective league and will be eyeing a rise here. Read on for our prediction of the match. 

Two matches into the new year, Preston North End remain winless. They are coming from a 1-1 draw with Oxford United in their most recent game. 

That came off the back of a 3-1 loss at West Bromwich Albion. The draw was their sixth in the last 11 matches and they’ve managed just three wins in the last 17 matches.

Like Preston, Charlton also didn’t start the new year on a winning note. They will be happy to have collected a point from their 0-0 draw with Reading. 

That result extended their undefeated run to five matches. However, the Addicks have just three wins to show in their last eight matches. 

Coming into this match with three wins in four away matches will be a boost for the visitors, who have also kept clean sheets in all the four games. In the FA Cup though, they have just two wins in regular time in the last seven away matches.
