On a neutral base in Hungary, Israel will host Ireland in their round two matches in the UEFA Nations League. This will be a League B meeting both nations look to win after opening defeats. Neither of the teams look defensively solid and our prediction is for both to score.
Israel started their League B journey with a loss in Austria. They seemed to be in control of the game until four minutes of madness in the second half changed it all.
Colorado Rapids’ forward Sayed Abu Farki, on his international debut was all involved. He picked up a 52nd minute yellow, scored in the 55th and got a second yellow in the 56th.
It was tough thereafter as Israel were finally broken with two stoppage time goals.
Ireland had a more solid outing away to Kosovo, but were also undone by a late goal in their 1-0 defeat. Now they’ll be looking to beat Israel for only the second time in their history, as the two meet for the sixth time.
The last two meetings between these sides were in 2005, and both ended in draws with each side scoring. Ireland’s defeat left them winless in two matches, but they’ve drawn three of their last six while winning twice.
They conceded in five of their last 10 matches but need to really up their away performances, having won just twice in 10.

Our Israel vs Ireland Prediction
Both Ireland and Israel scored in their last two meetings, though that was over two decades ago. They come here with not-so-good numbers in defence and both looking to bounce back from defeats. This situation could mean opening up defensively, a state that would see their defensive performances plummet further.
The same might also elevate their chances of scoring. In five of Ireland’s last eight away games, both teams scored, and the same was the case in four of Israel’s five when listed as hosts. Our prediction for Israel v Ireland, therefore, is BTTS.
