An exciting final weekend of the 2026 Six Nations gets underway with Ireland hosting Scotland in Dublin. Ireland are third in the table two points behind second-placed Scotland. Read our match prediction below.
Both sides could yet win this Six Nations but will have to wait until later in the day to see how leaders France fare at home to England. What is at stake here is the Triple Crown and whoever wins will win that. Ireland (just like their opponents) began this Six Nations with a defeat. Their last three games have all been won, including home victories over Italy and Wales.
Scotland lost to Italy in their opening Six Nations game and couldn't have imagined the position they'd be in with one game to go. They are only behind France on points difference but only one of their three wins has come on the road. A first ever Six Nations title is achievable this weekend but it's going to be tough against a side they have a poor record against.

Ireland - Scotland: Form Analysis
Ireland's Six Nations campaign began with an away defeat in Paris. They have been playing catch-up since then but been making a pretty good job of it. That was seen most when they went to England and returned with a 42-21 victory.
Since then, they have beaten Wales at home and now take on Scotland in Dublin. A win will give them the Triple Crown and take them to the top of the Six Nations table. Whether they stay there will totally depend on France later on Saturday.
A dozen wins in a row?
Ireland have won their last 11 matches against Scotland. That's the longest winning streak seen in the history of matches between these two nations. Not since 2010 have they been beaten by Scotland in Dublin.
It was in 2017 that Scotland last beat Ireland. A return to winning ways against the Irish side will win them the Triple Crown but more could be on the way later in the day.
After that opening defeat in Rome, Scotland have beaten England, Wales and most recently, France. To score 50 points against the Six Nations leaders was impressive but conceding 40 not so.
Their best performances have been at Murrayfield. They lost in Rome and needed a comeback to get the victory in Wales. They need to up their level on the road if a win in Dublin is to be achieved.

Ireland & Scotland Squad Analysis
Bundee Aki comes into the Irish squad for this final home game against Scotland. It’s his first inclusion for Ireland in this season’s Six Nations. Earlier this year he served a four-match ban after a “verbal abuse and disrespect” incident while playing for Connacht in the URC. Another two-match ban is suspended so he’ll need to be on best behavior this weekend.
Making his debut for Ireland this weekend will be Darragh Murray if he comes off the bench. Jacob Stockdale has been replaced by Tommy O’Brien. Further changes see Josh van der Flier and Dan Sheehan replace Ronan Kelleher and Nick Timoney who will start this game on the replacement bench. James Ryan will miss the game due to a calf injury
It’s 27 years since Scotland last won the title back when only five teams took part. The long wait for a first ever Six Nations title could end this weekend. No one would blame them for still having that opening weekend loss in Italy on their mind. Instead of chasing a Grand Slam though, they head to Dublin looking to win the Triple Crown and perhaps, maybe the title.
Changes in the second row for Scotland.
They have made changes to their second row for this match against Ireland with Grant Gilchrist and Max Williamson selected. It’ll be a massive game for Gilchrist who will be making his 88th appearance for Scotland, a record for a second row. Out due to injury are locks Scott Cummings and Gregor Brown. Kyle Steyn has scored three tries in these championships. He went off injured last weekend but is fit to play against Ireland.
Their best performances so far in this year’s Six Nations have come at Murrayfield. They may well need to put in a better performance in Dublin than in Cardiff where they struggled to defeat Wales.
