England look to bounce back from their away loss against Scotland last weekend. The Red Roses are third in the Six Nations after two games, a point and two places above Ireland. Read our match prediction below.

It was all going well for England after 12 wins in a row since losing in Ireland during last season's Six Nations. Then they were beaten in Edinburgh and find themselves five points adrift of France who they travel to in their last Six Nations fixture. A win over Ireland this Saturday is an absolute must if they are to retain any hope of winning the title. This is their final home game in this season's Nations League.

Ireland are in even greater need of a victory.. Two games so far in these championships have only produced four points. They lost their opening game in Paris and although Ireland beat Italy last weekend, no bonus point was achieved. A repeat of last year's win over England is what they need.

England - Ireland: Form Analysis

England have lost five of their last six matches against Ireland. Only one of those defeats was at Twickenham four years ago. Last season saw these two sides face each other on matchday 1 and Ireland won a thrilling match by five points.

There have been some close matches between England and Ireland in recent years. England last played them at home two years ago and won by a solitary point. Another close match could be on the way but with vastly inferior points differences to leaders France, that wouldn't be too helpful. England had won 12 matches in a row since losing to Ireland last year but that run ended with defeat in Edinburgh last weekend.

Ireland try to avoid a fourth loss of the season.

Ireland have also won one and lost their other Six Nations fixture this year. They lost their opening game to France but recovered to beat Italy at home last weekend but only by a seven-point margin and trailed at the break.

The loss in France was their third of the season after home losses to New Zealand and South Africa.

England & Ireland Squad Analysis

Ireland returned to winning ways last weekend with a come-from-behind home win over Italy. With a six-point gap between them and France plus a points difference of 79 to make up, a title win looks very unlikely.

Only two points separate second and fifth places so a high finish is still possible but they need to win this game.

Head coach Andy Farrell has made five changes to last weekend's starting line-up. Jack Crowley wiill be their fly half at Twickenham, replacing Sam Prendergast. He helped Ireland come from a half-time deficit against Italy after coming on as a replacement.

Jamison Gibson-Park was on the bench last week but replaces Craig Casey for this game. Also in the starting line-up is Tadhg Furlong who will play at tight-head prop after missing last week's game due to injury.

Arundell keeps his place in the team.

England give a first Test start to Henry Pollock this weekend. Also coming into the starting line-up is Tom Curry with Ollie Lawrence back at centre. Henry Arundell was sent off against Scotland last weekend but not banned. He keeps his place and is in good scoring form.

Guy Pepper and Sam Underhill are only on the bench against Ireland after poor displays in Edinburgh. It's a massive match for captain Maro Itoje who plays his 100th international this weekend.

Losing last weekend will have hit the massive momentum they have built up in the past year. Another loss this weekend would be a major setback for England and virtually end any hope of winning the Six Nations title.

Our England vs Ireland Prediction

England's winning streak came to an end last week, losing to Scotland. Having a player sent off didn't help them and they can't afford to make the defensive errors that were seen at Murrayfield. Changes have been made and that will hopefully get them back into winning ways.

Ireland lost to France in their opening game, failing to score in the first half. Another poor first half performance came against Italy last weekend but they fougbt back to get a win. Our main England v Ireland prediction is England wins on a -7.5 handicap.

Henry Arundell to score a try

Odds 1.97
Some believe Henry Arundell is lucky to be playing this weekend. He was sent off at Murrayfield last weekend but hasn't received a ban for his dismissal. Arundell has been in good scoring form for England and can redeem himself with a try against Ireland.
