We'll definitely have an unseeded player in the last eight of the Dubai Tennis Championships. Botic van de Zandschulp faces Sebastian Korda in the second round and both are unseeeded. Potential quarter final opponents include second seeded Andrey Rublev. Botic van de Zandschulp caused a surprise in the first round when beating Adrian Mannarino who was the sixth seed in this outdoor hard court tournament. The Dutchman won that match in straight sets for the loss of eight games. He's 77th in the live rankings and he clearly has a liking for Dubai. Last year saw him reach the quarter finals where he lost to Andrey Rublev but had earlier beaten Karen Khachanov. This year has seen van de Zandschulp struggle and before his win over Mannarino had lost five of his last six matches. He leads Korda 2-1 in previous meetings and won their only match played on a hard court.
Sebastian Korda had an easy win in the first round.of this ATP 500 tournament. He only lost a couple of games against Pavel Kotov, all in the second set. Korda is up to 30th in the live rankings and that'd see him seeded at the French Open. That was a welcome win for the American after losing his previous two matches. He'd lost to Grigor Dimitrov and Alex de Minaur, both of whom are ranked higher than him. He was in good form at the start of the year with a semi-final in Adelaide and a run to the third round of the Australian Open. We tip him to get the win and make it into the last eight.
