League One leaders Bolton Wanderers are the highest ranked club currently in the FA Cup. They host Harrogate Town who are 16th in League Two at present. The winners go into the third round and could end up drawing a Premier League or Championship club. Bolton last reached the third round in the 2018-19 season and then went four seasons without getting past round one. They finally managed to get to round two with a 4-0 home win over National League club Solihull Moors. The Wanderers come into this match top of League One on goal difference from Portsmouth. Their most recent fixture was a goalless draw at Oxford United. The draw ended a run of eight wins in a row with six clean sheets. Home form has seen the Trotters unbeaten in their last four games, winning the last three by an aggregate score of 12-0.

Harrogate Town are bidding to reach the FA Cup third round for only the second time in their history. The only other time they did so was in the 2021-22 season when losing to Luton Town 4-0. This is only their fourth season as a member of the English Football League. Currently they are 16th in League Two but nine points above the relegation places and seven adrift of the final promotion play-off position. The Sulphurites have gone four games without a win and last weekend drew 2-2 at home to Wrexham after trailing 2-0. Their last two away games have both ended in defeat. They did win 5-1 at non-league Marine in round one but this is far tougher. We tip Bolton to win this and lead at both half and full time.
