Australia - Scotland Predictions & Betting tips - ICC Men's T20 World Cup

 by Devesh Jaganath |

Group B at the 2024 T20 World Cup will be decided on Sunday when Australia take on Scotland at Beausejour Stadium. The Aussies currently lead the group while the Scots are second. While this year’s T20 World Cup has already tossed up a few major surprises, for Australia, it has been business as usual. Regardless of the outcome of this match, the Baggy Greens will feature in the Super Eight, having won their first three group-stage matches. The first victory came against Oman by 39 runs, while the second was arguably the most impressive, beating defending champions England by 36 runs. Last week, the Aussies were far too good for Namibia and bowled out the Southern African side for just 72, before chasing down the total in under six overs. David Warner has been Australia’s standout batsman in the competition, currently ranked as the third-highest run-scorer with 115 in three innings. With the ball, Adam Zampa has eight wickets, ranked fourth in the tournament. Unsurprisingly, the Aussies are massive favourites in this match.

Meanwhile, Scotland are on the verge of pulling off arguably the biggest shock of the competition so far. After their opening match against England was abandoned, the Scots notched up back-to-back victories over Namibia and Oman to take them to five points in three games. That leaves them two points above England heading into the final match. In terms of permutations, if Scotland win or this match is washed out, they will secure second place and join the Aussies in the Super Eight. If England win their final group-stage match and Scotland lose theirs, it will come down to which side has the better net run rate. The Three Lions currently possess the better run rate after walloping Oman last time out. If England lose their final match, Scotland will progress to the next round regardless of the outcome here.

Our Australia - Scotland - ICC Men's T20 World Cup prediction

This promises to be an intriguing contest given that many have suggested that Australia may ‘take it easy’ here, to allow Scotland to get a result that will knock out England. However, we don’t believe that will be the case and feel that the Baggy Greens will continue their dominance. Key to their success has been the performance of Adam Zampa, who is now up to fourth in the leading wicket-taker standings and comes into this match following a four-wicket haul against Namibia. The Aussie spinner seems to be enjoying the pitches here in the America’s and we feel he will bag at least a couple in this one. Our Australia vs Scotland prediction: Adam Zampa Over 1.5 wickets.

Prediction :

Adam Zampa Over 1.5 Wickets

This promotion is aimed at horse racing bettors, the second most popular sport behind football in the UK market for placing a bet on. The offer is valid on every race from the UK and Ireland which covers a large amount each week. If the horse that you have backed fails to come out of the stalls on the flat or whips around at the start of a jumps race then you receive your stake money back as you did not get a fair run for your money. This will not count if it is a bet that you have cashed out on but does apply to both singles and multiple bets with maximum refunds of £100 and £500 on those respectively.
