by Steve Ashfield in LaLiga Predictions
Third placed Atletico Madrid will be confident of a third La Liga win of the new season. The Mattress Makers host Valencia who are bottom of La Liga with only one point. Here's our match prediction.
Atletico Madrid have earned eight points from their first four games of the new La Liga season. They had a struggle in their opening game at Villarreal, twice having to come from behind to get a 2-2 draw.
Since then they haven't conceded a league goal in three matches. They beat Girona 3-0 at home, were held to a goalless draw at Espanyol and most recently won 1-0 at Athletic Bilbao thanks to a 92nd minute winner.
The Indians have only lost one of their last ten games played in La Liga. Home form is highly impressive with just three defeats in their last 37 games played in La Liga and two of those were inflicted by Barcelona.
Their last four home league games against Valencia have all been won. 25 points have been earned in the last nine home league matches played against Valencia.
The away side are struggling this season with just one point and seven goals conceded. It could have been a different story though as Los Ches have led in three of their four league matches this season.
Leads were established against Barcelona, Celta Vigo and Villarreal but only one point was won by them in the latter match. They haven't won in La Liga since April and have gone 11 without a victory.
With just one point from their last five away La Liga matches, we fear another loss looms. We tip Atletico Madrid to win and lead at both half and full time.
