Fans of Welsh minnows Connah’s Quay will get to see their team in action in Europe for the eighth time in nine seasons as they travel to Slovenia to face Bravo Ljubljana. The Nomads will be seeking to win their first-ever UEFA Conference League match against The Siskarji, who themselves are embarking on their first European adventure. Let’s take a closer look at our prediction for this game. 

Both teams are preparing for the start of their respective seasons and this will be their first competitive game of the campaign. Bravo finished the Slovenian season with a run of five draws, followed by a win on the final day of the season against Olimpija. That crucial result saw them leapfrog Koper into the fourth and final European qualification spot in the PrvaLiga. Meaning they would embark on their first ever European campaign this season. They have made a huge amount of progress as a club after being founded in 2006.

Connah’s Quay struggled over their last seven games of the Welsh League season, suffering four defeats and managing just one win and two draws. The goals dried up for the Welsh side too, scoring just five in their last seven games, three of those coming in their sole victory, a 3-0 away win over Cardiff MU. They are no strangers to European competition, but have a very poor record. In fact out of seven previous European campaigns, they have won just two ties, the first against Norwegian side Stabaek in 2016/17 and the second against Kilmarnock in 2019/20. Since then they have lost all five of the ties they have played in any of the three major European competitions. That includes a 4-0 aggregate lost last season to Icelandic side KA.
