Chelsea travel to the Gazprom Arena to take on hosts Zenit St Petersburg in this final round match in Group H. Zenit have qualified for the Europa League and the defending champions Chelsea are through to the knockout stages. The home team are in third place with five points from their five games, four points clear of last placed Malmo. Chelsea are joint top of the group on 12 points but have the better goal difference. Zenit are unbeaten in their last five matches and this includes a 2-2 home draw against Rostov in their last match. This will be the third time that Zenit will be playing English opposition at home in European competitions and they have won the previous two against Bradford and Liverpool. They have had one previous meeting with Chelsea which was in the earlier round which they lost 1-0.

Chelsea need a victory to secure the top spot in the group. They could still top the group with a draw provided Juventus don’t win. A loss for Chelsea and a Juventus loss still hands the English team the top spot. Chelsea were on a 12 games unbeaten run until their 3-2 loss to West Ham in their last match. Chelsea have played Russian opposition three times away from home and were victorious on all three occasions. They also managed to keep a clean sheet in all the matches. Since Thomas Tuchel took over at Chelsea they have only conceded three goals in their 12 Champions League matches.
