Euro 2020: Which Outsiders Should You be Betting On?

A Swiss Surprise?

suisse-nations-league-2019

Switzerland reached the last four of the UEFA Nations League last year. They are a consistent side and one that's not thrilling to watch but often hard to beat. The Swiss won Group D to reach the finals, ahead of Denmark, the Republic of Ireland, Georgia and Gibraltar. They showed consistent form both at home and on their travels with only one defeat in the group (a 1-0 loss in Denmark).

In the Nations League, the Swiss showed that they are not an easy side to beat. Up against Spain and Germany, they managed to draw with both of them at home and away in Germany.

Their group sees them up against Italy, Turkey and Wales in Group A, they should make it into the knock-out stages. The loss in Denmark is the only defeat they have had in the last six games with four clean sheets. A bet on them winning Euro 2020 has odds of 66/1.

Ronaldo Always Worth a Bet

liga-das-nacoes-portugal-unaio-equipa

A bet on Cristianio Ronaldo being the top player in any tournament is worth making. He continues to be an excellent player both for Juventus and Portugal. You can get odds of 14/1 on him being the Player of the Tournament at Euro 2020. Portugal have a tough group but should be able to get through to the knock-out stages, even if only as one of the best third-placed teams.

Portugal are capable of better than that with a good squad. They are of course also the current European champions. Ronaldo can put on some great displays so a wager on him is a good outside bet to be the player of the tournament.

A Giroud Goalfest this Summer?

france-euro-20112019Betting on Euro 2020 isn't just about which country will lift the trophy this summer? You can also bet on who the top goal scorer will be and Olivier Giraud is a good outside bet. Chelsea may not give him that many starts but he has a good international record.

He has played 97 internationals for France and scored 39 goals. That includes four in his last six and he's their penalty taker which helps. Only Michel Platini and Thierry Henry have scored more goals for France. Giroud needs just two goals to draw level with Platini.  With six goals in the qualifying group, he could be a good outside bet for top scorer with odds of 20/1.
