Brighton and Crystal Palace are back to Premier League action after contrasting outings in Europe in midweek. Brighton have had a stunning start to the season and looked unstoppable once again as they hosted Lithuanian champions Kauno Zalgiris in the UEFA Conference League.
Their weekend opponents, meanwhile, are coming off a losing outing in France, where they lost to Lyon. The midweek results give a glimpse of the weekend expectations as our prediction tips Brighton to extend their fine run, especially when playing at home. Crystal Palace will also have their reasons to stay positive for this game.
Apart from the urge to bounce back from the loss in Lyon, the Eagles have a strong record against Brighton. Palace are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Brighton and carry three wins in that run. They may be struggling on the road so far, but Crystal Palace head here, having beaten the Seagulls in their last two visits.

Brighton - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Brighton continued with their blistering start to the season in midweek as they welcomed Kauno Zalgiris in the Conference League. The Seagulls ran out 4-0 winners in a dominant home display against the Lithuanian giants.
This marked the fourth time this season that they scored at least three times at home. Another major stat coming off that game was the fact that Brighton recorded a fourth clean sheet in five matches in this encounter. There is no doubt about their strength coming into this game; in their last home league game, they thrashed champions Arsenal 3-0.
Crystal Palace have suffered five defeats in their last nine away Premier League matches.
Crystal Palace will be the next London club visiting the Amex after Arsenal, and they will hope to avoid the fate suffered by the Gunners. They will have their reasons to believe this could be a good outing. In the last four meetings between these teams, Crystal Palace are undefeated, with three wins.
The Eagles also won on their last two visits here. However, in the run-up to this encounter, they aren’t on a very strong run and have generally been shaky this season. Palace are coming off a 3-2 defeat in Lyon on matchday two of the Europa League. That result meant they’ve only managed one win in their last seven away matches.

Brighton & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis
This could be another one of Pascal Gross’ shows. At 35, the German is in such fine form that he has had eight goal contributions in Brighton’s last seven matches. It is in only one of those cases that Brighton suffered defeat. After playing the full 90 minutes in Brighton’s first nine games, Gross had 57 minutes against Zalgiris in midweek.
He will be well rested by the time the Seagulls take on Crystal Palace on Sunday. Brighton will also have Pascal Struijk available after the red card he received against Sunderland was overturned. He only has fitness concerns to beat now, after missing the midweek game with a thigh injury.
Brighton’s Ibrahim Osman had two assists in midweek but picked up a foot injury.
At Crystal Palace, Daichi Kamada will know he has to step up for his team, and he is in top form for that. The Japanese international has scored in each of the last two matches. Against Lyon he only had 28 minutes, but those were enough for him to record his fourth goal contribution of the season.
Meanwhile, for the ninth straight outing, the visitors are set to be without French forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is nursing a hamstring injury. However, it is goalkeeper Dean Henderson who will be missed more, as Palace face a top attacking side. The keeper is recovering from a foot injury that has kept him out of six matches.

Our Brighton vs Crystal Palace Prediction
Brighton run the risk of losing three straight home league matches against Crystal Palace for the first time ever. The Seagulls will be keen on avoiding that, and there are reasons to believe they will halt that run.
This season, Brighton have only lost once, to Chelsea, and even then, it was a very close game. They’ve had a number of great outings at home and will be looking to add to Crystal Palace’s struggles on the road. Our prediction for Brighton v Crystal Palace is that Brighton wins.
Brighton vs Crystal Palace Alternative Predictions
BTTS
Crystal Palace have played nine matches this season and only failed to score in two of them - against Everton and Leeds United. In six of those nine matches, they scored two or more goals.
Given that they have the league-high 108 shots, there is a likelihood they will score here. Chances of this match producing a low-scoring outcome are really low. Our second prediction here is for the match to see both sides scoring.
